Hare Krishna is a religious sect within the broader Hindu tradition, specifically within the Gaudiya Vaishnavism tradition. Followers of Hare Krishna, also known as the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), worship the Hindu deity Krishna and follow the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and other Hindu scriptures. The sect is known for its distinctive practices such as chanting the Hare Krishna mantra and promoting a lifestyle of devotion and spiritual growth. Therefore, Hare Krishna can be considered both a religion and a sect within Hinduism. **

Krishna is considered the supreme god in Hare Krishna because he is believed to be the source of all other gods and the ultimate form of the divine. Followers of Hare Krishna believe that Krishna is the original and supreme personality of Godhead, and that all other deities are manifestations of him. They also believe that Krishna is the most merciful and loving form of God, and that by chanting his name and engaging in devotional service to him, one can attain spiritual liberation and eternal happiness. Therefore, Krishna is revered as the supreme and most worshipable deity in the Hare Krishna tradition. **

The Hare Krishna sect, also known as the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), is not inherently dangerous. While some former members have raised concerns about the organization's hierarchical structure and potential for manipulation, there is no evidence to suggest that the Hare Krishna sect poses a significant threat to the general public. Like any religious group, individuals should exercise caution and critical thinking when engaging with the teachings and practices of the Hare Krishna sect. **
